Odorant Receptor Expression in the Maxillary Palp

Odorant Receptor Expression in the Maxillary Palp

(Left): The conventional odorant receptor, Or85e, is expressed in ~15 neurons in the maxillary palp (green).
(Right): The non-canonical odorant receptor, Or83b, is expressed in all 120 olfactory neurons in the maxillary palp (green). Therefore each neuron expresses a single conventional DOR gene along with Or83b.
